Tinley Park HS's Couwenhoven Participates in Real Men Wear Pink Campaign

Associate Principal Randy Couwenhoven is helping to raise funds for the American Cancer Society

Tinley Park High School’s Associate Principal Dr. Randy Couwenhoven has been recruited by the American Cancer Society to be part of the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign. He will wear pink everyday during the month of October and has also pledged to raise $2,500. On Mr. Couwenhoven’s American Cancer Society fundraising page, he explains his commitment to this effort stating, “It doesn't matter who you are, I'm sure your life has been touched in some way by some type of cancer. I have learned that this disease does not discriminate...people from every demographic and all walks of life are impacted. I support the American Cancer Society in an effort to support those who have walked this road and won the battle, those who are currently fighting the fight, and those who have lost a courageous loved one to cancer. The American Cancer Society is just another avenue for funding, research, and support that helps to make the journey more bearable. This is simply my way of making my disease about something bigger than just me.” To help with the fundraising, members of the Titan Staff brought dessert items and created a "perfectly pink" sweet table for the back-to-school Teachers’ Institute Day. During the staff lunch, all Tinley Park High School employees were invited to make up plates of treats and donate to the cause. The event was a great success that brought in $800! http://main.acsevents.org/…/MakingStridesAgain…/MSABCCY17LS…
