National Night Out 

The annual National Night Out program brings together police departments and the communities they serve as a way to strengthen crime prevention. Residents will be able to tour the Oak Forest Police Department and talk to members of the police department, Oak Forest Fire Department and Emergency Management Agency. There also will be a live K-9 demonstration.

This year's event is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Gazebo in front of City Hall. Find out more details.

TUESDAY, AUG. 6
Farmers Market: Continue to shop for fresh produce and other items from area vendors at the city's weekly sale from 3 to 7 p.m. at the south parking lot of the Central Park Building on Central Avenue.

THURSDAY, AUG. 8
Laughter—Jest for the Health of It: Registered nurse and "laugh leader" Kathy O'Brien will discuss how a chuckle a day can keep the doctor away during this event at 7 p.m. at the Acorn Public Library. Find out more details.
Thirsty Thursday for Fleadh: The Windy City Thunderbolts will be hosting a special game day to raise money for Oak Forest's Fleadh at 7 p.m. at Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood. Find out more details.
