Towns with the Highest and Lowest Unemployment Rates in Illinois
After a two-month delay, January's metro and local jobless figures have been released.

You might have noticed the absence of state unemployment reports over the past couple months. When Gov. Bruce Rauner took office and appointed a new director to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, additional time was required to make benchmarking revisions to historical unemployment data.
With all that out of the way, the IDES released January’s metro and local jobless report after announcing the statewide unemployment rate fell slightly to 6.1 percent. While February’s statistics won’t be released until next week, you can see how your city fared during the first month of 2015.
