Ye Olde Oaken Forest Music Department Presents its Madrigal Feast
The annual Madrigal Feast will be presented Dec. 6 & 7
Ye Olde Oaken Forest High School will present its Madrigal Feast at Oak Forest High School on Saturday, December 6 at 6:30 pm and December 7 at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $25 and are available through December 1.
The Madrigal is one of the most enduring musical forms in all history. The Madrigal found favor with the Italian noble class in the 16th century. Eventually, the Madrigal found its way to England, where the English put their touch on the form. All members of the English nobility were required to have musical training and often performed Madrigal songs at court.
Many students are a part of the Madrigal Choir. They are: Amanda Petit (Queen), Zachary Skopek (King), Izzy Oboza, Amelia McDowell, Sara Valente, Emily Cooper, Paige McGovern, Margaret Good, Julia Gerringer, Mickenzie Alexander, Sabrina Swidergal, Danny Deane, Alex Joritz, Mark Burghard, Nick Kunnath, Jose Rios, and Mairead DeWitt. In the Ladies-in-Waiting Chorus are: Breanne Morrissey, Cassie Greenhill, Ema Kester, Amelia Sorensen, Kristina Bowers, Millie McMahon, Victoria Rice, Sara Boblink, Tessa Damien, and Emily Hendzel.
