14-Year-Old Girl Sexually Assaulted On Way To School: Cops
The girl was walking to St. Laurence High School in Burbank when she was pulled into an alley and sexually assaulted, police said.
BURBANK, IL — A 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Burbank on Monday morning while walking to school, Burbank police said. The assault took place in an alley behind a garage in Burbank. Police have released several images of the suspect taken from home security cameras.
Around 7:40 a.m., the girl was walking to St. Laurence High School northbound on Central Avenue. Police said a man approached the girl from behind and threatened her with a gun. He pulled her into a nearby alley in the 7800 block of Central Avenue. After the assault, police said the man was last seen walking eastbound on 79th Street from Central Avenue. No weapon was displayed.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 to 170 pounds, wearing a reddish-orange, pullover sweatshirt and black pants and carrying a black backpack.

The girl is recovering and cooperating with investigators. Police have not yet identified her attacker but are asking for the public's help in identifying him. Anyone having or needing information is urged to contact the Burbank Police Department at 708-924-7300.
