2 Injured In Intentional Hit-And-Run, Driver In Custody: Cops
Oak Lawn cops say the accident appears to be intentional and may have evolved from a domestic dispute.
OAK LAWN, IL — A person of interest is being questioned in what may be an intentional hit-and-run evolving from a domestic dispute, police said in a news release. The accident happened in Oak Lawn late Thursday evening and left two people injured.
Oak Lawn police went to the 4700 block of West 99th Street around 10:20 p.m. for a report of an accident with injuries. When officers arrived, they found that a man and woman had been hit by a vehicle which had left the area. Further investigation revealed that the man had been the intended target, police said.
The driver was stopped by Evergreen Park police near 99th Street and Francisco Avenue. The male driver was arrested without incident. Police said the man who was struck positively identified the driver, who is being held at the Oak Lawn Police Department. Charges haven’t been filed as police continue their investigation. Police said the three people all know each other and that the incident is related to a domestic dispute.

The man was treated and released for his injuries. Police said the woman is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Names are being withheld pending the outcome of the investigation.
