The suspect fled in a vehicle reported stolen in a Chicago carjacking and later found burned by fire in the city
OAK LAWN, IL — A suspect in a carjacking in Chicago is believed to have robbed patrons in separate incidents Wednesday morning in Oak Lawn and Worth, police said.
The spree unfolded in Worth around 8:15 a.m. at a gas station near 115th Street and Harlem Avenue. A man driving a silver Honda CRV approached a vehicle owner and took his wallet, cell phone, and other personal items, said Chief Tim Denton, of the Worth Police Department.
The man apparently moved on to Oak Lawn, because both agencies said he matched the description of the suspect in both robberies.
Around 8:30 a.m., Oak Lawn police responded to a robbery at the BP Gas Station near 110th Street and Pulaski Road. The vehicle owner was inside the gas station when he saw a man wearing a white hard hat and yellow safety vest entering his vehicle.
