Oak Lawn Chamber Names 2019 Member of the Year

OAK LAWN, IL — Members and supporters of the Oak Lawn business community gathered on Saturday, January 18th, at the Hilton Oak Lawn to honor the 2020 Officers and Directors of the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce during the 74th Annual Installation.

For their loyal support, their generosity and their friendship, the Oak Lawn Chamber is pleased to present this award for the 2019 Outstanding Chamber Member of the Year to the Oak Lawn Public Library. The award was present by the emcee Anne Marie Casey and the 2018 Business Award winner, Jeff Reynolds of Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Here is why the Oak Lawn Public Library was selected:

Oak Lawn Public Library For its entire history, the Oak Lawn Public Library has been the premier library of the South west suburbs and the benchmark against which other libraries are judged. It has set the standard for its collections, services and facilities. For more than 40 years, the Oak Lawn Public Library has been an exemplary member of the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce. The Library has supported, and continues to support, the Chamber in numerous ways. The Oak Lawn Public Library provides financial support to the Chamber through membership dues as well as through their on-going sponsorship of our annual golf outing. The Library is an unceasing supporter of our Membership Directory and our Fire and Public Safety Coloring Book, providing help with the costs associated with the printing and distribution of these materials throughout the community. We cannot thank the Oak Lawn Public Library enough for their continued financial contributions. While financial support is important to the Chamber, what sets the Library and its staff apart is their willingness to go above and beyond in contributing valuable human resources to our programs and events throughout the year.

The Library has had a representative on our Board of Directors in an active capacity for many, many years. In addition, employees of the Library provide valuable assistance to the Chamber by serving on various committees including the Member Appreciation Luncheon committee and the Shop Oak Lawn Vendor Fair committee. Members of the Library staff are active participants in other vendor events held by the Chamber throughout the year. Without the steadfast support of these volunteers, the Chamber would be hard-pressed to put on the many successful community events held all year long. The Library also serves as the host venue for the Chamber’s quarterly Lunch and Learn program and the annual Shop Oak Lawn Vendor Fair. Their generous donation of the Library as a place to host these events is a great help to our Chamber. It would be difficult to name and to thank every person from the library. However, we do want you to know that we are incredibly grateful to have a public library in our village that is both an asset to the community and one whose staff is so willing to continually serve our community by donating time, talent, energy and financial resources. To show our appreciation for its generous support of the Chamber of Commerce and the community as a whole, we are proud to present the Oak Lawn Public Library with the 2019 Outstanding Chamber Member Award.
