2024 Football Schedule Released For Oak Lawn Community High School

OAK LAWN, IL — High school football players will be taking to the gridiron as practices can officially start on Aug. 12.

A nine-game regular season, released Thursday, runs through the end of October, before culminating with the Illinois High School Association Football State Finals (November 29 to 30) at Hancock Stadium on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal. The IHSA will be celebrating its 50th state championship games.

The Illinois High School Association, in partnership with Max Preps, recently announced schedules for the varsity teams. In Oak Lawn, fans will especially be keeping tabs on the local teams at Oak Lawn Community and Richards high schools, as well as the area Catholic high schools.

This fall, the Spartans will be joined in the South Suburban Red Conference by Richards (Oak Lawn), Evergreen Park, Shepard (Palos Heights), Reavis (Burbank), Argo (Summit) and Eisenhower (Blue Island).

Ryan Pattison returns as the head coach of the varsity OLCHS football team, which finished the 2023 season with a 1-8 overall record in the South Suburban Red Conference.

Locally, it’s Spartan vs. Spartan, when Oak Lawn Community High School's regular season begins on the road Aug. 25 when the OLCHS faces off against the Romeoville Spartans. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
