4 Adults, 2 Dogs Escape Early Morning House Fire

Four adults and two dogs are safe after a fire tore through their home early Saturday in Oak Lawn.

OAK LAWN, IL — Four adults and two dogs are safe after a fire ripped through their home in Oak Lawn early Saturday morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Oak Lawn firefighters responded to a report of a fire around 4:30 a.m. in the 9700 block of West 51st Avenue. The homeowners and their dogs had escaped before fire crews arrived. Firefighters found the front of the house was engulfed in flames that had spread to the second floor.

The blaze was extinguished but the house sustained heavy damage. No one was injured. Fire crews remained on the scene until 6:30 a.m.
