410 Seat Belt Citations Issued During July 4th Enforcement

Oak Lawn police release results of 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' and 'Click It Or Ticket' enforcement campaign from June 17 to July 4.

OAK LAWN, IL – Oak Lawn police issued an astonishing 410 seat belt citations during the 4th of July “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click it or Ticket” campaigns.

The Oak Lawn Police Department joined forces with more than 200 other local law enforcement agencies from June 17 through July 6 to get drunken and drugged drivers off the roads and encourage seat belt use. The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities, including a media campaign. The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide programs.
