44 Sex Offenders In Oak Lawn, 5 In Hometown: 2024 Safety Map

OAK LAWN, IL — Forty-four registered sex offenders are calling Oak Lawn home, a loss of two registrants from 2022, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry. Of the 44, seven are non-compliant for failure to maintain accurate records; 22 are classified as sexual predators.

Hometown counts five registered sex offenders, three of whom are classified as sex predators. One is incarcerated.

In Illinois, registered sex offenders are prohibited from passing out candy on Halloween. They may not appear in a Halloween costume or other child-centered holiday character, such as Santa or the Easter Bunny, in public. Registered sex offenders, however, may wear a Halloween costume in their home, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
