5 horror films to be screened and discussed in October
Movies to be shown at Oak View Center and the Public Library in Oak Lawn
Horror film fans are welcome to view and partake in a group discussion on 5 different films in October.
CineVerse, the Oak Lawn Park District’s weekly film discussion group open to anyone age 17 and older, will screen and discuss 4 different fright films on Wednesdays in October from 7-10 p.m., at Oak View Community Center, located at 4625 W. 110th St. in Oak Lawn (check building signage for room number). The movies include:
- “Dead of Night” (1945) on October 4
- “Black Sabbath” (1963) on October 11
- “Kwaidan” (1964) on October 18
- “Creepshow” (1982) on October 25

Additionally, Cineversary, the Oak Lawn Public Library’s monthly film discussion group open to anyone age 17 and older, will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the classic horror film “Cat People” (1942) with a screening and discussion of the movie on Thursday, October 12, from 6:30-8:45 p.m. at the Oak Lawn Public Library, located at 9427 Raymond Ave in Oak Lawn in the downstairs theater.
