5 Taken Into Custody After Juveniles Injured With BB Guns: Police
Oak Lawn Police continue to investigate 2 incidents in which multiple juveniles were injured. Police recovered 7 BB guns used in shootings.
OAK LAWN, IL – The Oak Lawn Police Department is continuing to investigate an incident in which multiple juveniles were shot at with BB guns and suffered minor injuries, police said Monday.
Patrol officers responded to two separate incidents, including at in the 10500 block of Lavergne and another in the 9800 block of 53rd Ave., Oak Lawn Division Chief Gerald Vetter wrote in an email to Patch on Monday.
One of the officers noticed a vehicle matching the one named in reports in the area of 101st St and Central. A stop was conducted and a search led to the recovery of five handgun BB guns and two long gun BB guns, Vetter said.

Three adults and two juveniles were taken into custody, said Vetter, who indicated that a full report of the incidents is not being released at the time.
