OAK LAWN, IL — For 68-year-old Sandra McAlpine, Veteran’s Day stirs up a host of memories. McAlpine served as an Army sergeant stationed in Germany. On Veteran’s Day, she donned her uniform and celebrated with nine other veterans who reside at an Oak Lawn memory care community.
