OAK LAWN, IL – Brace yourselves because an IDOT improvement project is planned for Harlem Avenue (Illinois 43) over 95th Street (U.S. 12/20), from 92nd Place, in Bridgeview, to south of 99th Place, in Chicago Ridge, passing through Oak Lawn. Work will begin, weather permitting, Monday, Sept. 30. The project is scheduled to be completed in several stages.

Starting at 5 a.m. Monday through the end of October, weather permitting, eastbound 95th Street (U.S. 12/20) from Interstate 294 (Tri State Tollway) to New England Avenue will be closed to accommodate the installation of new storm sewers and repaving. Motorists should follow the posted detour.

A temporary ramp is being built from westbound 95th Street to northbound Harlem Avenue to
accommodate reconstruction of the existing ramp. Traffic is anticipated to be shifted over to the
temporary ramp later this month. Work will begin on Harlem Avenue later this fall. Details and
impacts to traffic will be shared in advance, closer to the start date.
