Accused Burglar Found Pushing Baby Stroller Filled With Stolen Loot: Cops

Oak Lawn police say man was found with baby stroller full of personal items taken from cars.

OAK LAWN, IL -- Oak Lawn police arrested a 21-year-old man after he was found pushing a baby stroller full of items he had allegedly stolen from various cars.

Marco Salgado Jr., of Oak Lawn, was charged with five felony counts of burglary to auto. He was arrested A Cook County judge set bail at $50,000 during a bond hearing Dec. 2 in Bridgeview.

According to the charges, Oak Lawn police responded to a disturbance around 11:40 p.m. Nov. 30 in the 4800 block of West 91st Street. A resident who had been at home was alerted to someone going through their car.

Police said that the resident reported seeing a man, later identified as Salgado Jr., pushing a baby stroller. A short time later, the resident saw the man matching the subject’s description again. Officers caught up with Salgado who was found with several personal items belonging to the owners of five vehicles. Salgado had reportedly carted off the loot in a baby stroller.

Oak Lawn police remind residents to lock their vehicle doors and to not leave personal items or garage door openers in vehicles.
