Actual Grass, Not Pot, Sold To Police Source: Prosecutor
Chicago woman used juvenile drug mule to sell look-alike substance to police source in controlled buy, prosecutor said.

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL -- A Chicago woman was charged with selling actual grass to a confidential police source after telling him it was pot, prosecutors said. Bridget Torres, 21, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge of delivery of a look alike substance. She was also charged with a misdemeanor for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to the charges, Chicago Ridge police used a confidential source to arrange the purchase of two ounces of marijuana from Torres for $400. The confidential source arranged to meet Torres in the Walgreens parking lot at 6430 W. 111th St. in Worth. On Oct. 30, Torres showed up with another juvenile. The prosecutor said the juvenile completed the hand-to-hand transaction.
Chicago Ridge police said Torres was found to be carrying $250 in pre-recorded funds after she was arrested. Police field tested the purported cannabis, which turned out not to be marijuana but actual grass, the prosecutor said.
