Advocate Christ Hosts Information Session on Paramedic Education Program

Are you interested in becoming a paramedic? Advocate Christ is hosting an information session March 14. Program starts in August.

Are you interested in becoming a paramedic? If so, Advocate Christ Medical Center will be hosting an informational session about its Paramedic Education Program. The info session begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the EMS Academy, 5220 W. 105th Street, in Oak Lawn.

Advocate Christ is currently accepting applications for its 10-month paramedic program that begins on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017 and ends on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. The program meets Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5 to 10 p.m. at the EMS Academy, 5220 W. 105th St., Oak Lawn. There are skill labs that may occur Monday/Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in some modules. The entire 10-month schedule is distributed on the first night of class.

The medical center has an affiliation with Moraine Valley Community College, Students will be enrolled as MVCC students and will receive credits from the college. The 35 transferable college credits achieved upon completion of the program can be applied toward an MVCC associate allied health science degree.

The program is accredited by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) EMS Division and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP) and the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the EMS Professions (CoAEMSP). This recognition allows all graduates to be eligible for the IDPH State Paramedic licensing exam and the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) certification exam.
