Advocate Christ President meets with U.S. Surgeon General
Violence prevention topic of discussion during meeting
Advocate Christ Medical Center President Matt Primack met with U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin June 7 to discuss violence prevention and improving access to health care in Chicago’s most underserved neighborhoods.
Advocate Christ Medical Center is one of 10 hospitals that are actively participating in Sen. Durbin’s HEAL (Hospital Engagement, Action and Leadership) Chicago Initiative to reduce gun violence, heal victim’s physical and mental trauma and invest in long-term economic and workforce development programs.
Most recently, Advocate Christ Medical Center and University of Chicago Medicine launched a new collaborative called Southland RISE to strengthen and integrate existing violence recovery and trauma care services within the two medical systems and throughout the surrounding communities – making the #SouthSideStrong.
