Advocate Trauma Recovery Center Benefits from Strides for Peace

More than $13,000 raised for trauma recovery services

Advocate Christ Medical Center and Trinity Hospital physicians, nurses and team members gathered together Thursday night to support Strides for Peace – A Race Against Gun Violence at Grant Park in Chicago.

Advocate Christ Medical Center was a sponsor of the Strides for Peace event that financially supports community agencies and programs that work to end gun violence, help victims and educate youth.

This year, the Advocate Trauma Recovery Center was a funding recipient of the race – more than $13,000 was raised to support victims of intentional crime. The center is a health-care based violence intervention program that provides services and resources to survivors of intentional trauma. Clinicians assist clients with rebuilding, restoring and strengthening their sense of safety by ending the cycle of violence.
