All Aboard For The LEGO Train Show At The Oak Lawn Public Library
LEGO Train Display features an amazing array of running trains, and original creations at the Oak Lawn Public Library, April 7-8.

OAK LAWN, IL -- If you’ve never been to a LEGO Train Show at the Oak Lawn Public Library, gather your kids and grandkids and head over there this weekend. The show features a dazzling display of running trains, pop culture and original creations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7 and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 8. This is an all-ages show. Admission is FREE. No registration is required.
The display is created by the Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club, an adult LEGO enthusiast group of 25 active members who enjoy building, designing and displaying LEGO creations for the public. Club members are encouraged to create in whatever genre they love including town, space, city, castle, Star Wars and Harry Potter. A train is used to connect all the different areas together into a cohesive train display.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to come somewhere like the Oak Lawn Public Library and get instant feedback on the display you've created from your imagination," said Jamie LeBlanc, president of the Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club. "We love to see fans who view our brick creations year after year, as well as, meet people for the first time."

The club currently displays six to seven times a year at various venues including public libraries throughout the Chicago area. The group's love of LEGO and the opportunity to be creative is what keeps them participating in shows.
"We have fun building with our imaginations, and more importantly, we hope to inspire others to create and think outside the box to make their own unique displays," said LeBlanc.
Families who have members on the autism spectrum or with a sensory sensitivity may also register to view the LEGO exhibit before the library opens in a quiet and less crowded environment on Sunday, April 8 from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Registration for this special viewing begins Thursday, March 29 by emailing mdonovanys@olpl.org.
