OAK LAWN, IL—A new community newsletter called the Spartan Standard has been unveiled to keep district residents, families, and alumni informed about all the good things happening at Oak Lawn Community High School.
“It’s a way to connect Oak Lawn Community High School to the community,” said Vince Olejniczak, OLCHS community relations manager.
While students produce their own school newspaper for fellow students, the Spartan Standard is designed to heighten awareness of the high school throughout the community.
The latest edition of the Spartan Standard highlights the high school baseball team’s trip to Wrigley Field, the return of Relay for Life, staff spotlights, senior Q&A and student scholarships.
Olejniczak said a special hard copy edition of the Spartan Standard will be mailed to Dist. 229 residents this summer. During the 2026-2027 school year, Dist. 229 hopes to produce five digital editions.
Oak Lawn Patch will share the link when future digital editions of the Spartan Standard are posted online.
