OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN, IL—Law enforcement officers will be staking out rooftops of local Dunkin’ Donuts locations across the state to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Illinois. The statewide “Cop On A Rooftop” event runs from 5 a.m. to noon Friday, May 15.
2026 marks the 23rd year of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. Over the years, this partnership has raised more than $11.1 million in Illinois.
Whether you’re headed for work, school, or meeting your buds, stop by Dunkin’ and start your weekend off right with a donation to Special Olympics Illinois. A donation gets you a coupon for a free donut at Dunkin. A donation of $10 or more gets you the donut and a medium coffee. Officers will also be handing out giveaways (while supplies last) and selling merchandise for the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Representatives from the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois will be collecting money at some locations that goes directly to support programming for Special Olympics athletes across the state.
Can’t make it Friday? Donations are also being accepted online. Donors can specify a police department.
Oak Lawn police will be staking out the Dunkin’ at 10801 S. Cicero Ave. and 9500 S. 50th Court.
Hometown police will be on top of the Dunkin at 8940 S. Cicero Ave.
