BRIDGEVIEW, IL—Bridgeview has announced its rescheduled America250 fireworks show for Friday, July 17. The park district’s star-spangled celebration was rained out during the Fourth of July weekend.
The delayed red, white and blue celebration gets going at 6 p.m. at Commissioners Park, 81st Street and Oketo Avenue. All the events originally planned earlier this month will go on, featuring food trucks galore, games, a DJ, and activities for all ages, followed by a giant fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. Glow sticks will be for sale, so leave the sparklers at home.
Sorry, but the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile will not be at the event.
Expect heavy traffic from 4 to 10 p.m. on Harlem and Oketo from 79th to 83rd Streets, as well as 79th and 83rd Streets from Harlem to Roberts Road. If you’re planning to drive to the fireworks, there will be no parking near Commissioners Park.
In the event Mother Nature intervenes, the fireworks and patriotic festivities will be moved to Saturday, July 18.
