Back To School: Ridgeland Dist. 122 Academic Calendar 2026-2027

OAK LAWN, IL—As summer draws to a close, back-to-school planning has already begun in back-to-school planning has already begun in Ridgeland Dist. 122 with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2026-2027 school year.

The first day of school for Dist. 122 students will be Aug. 17, with a half-day from 8:50 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. for grades K-5; and 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. for middle school students, grades 6-8. The first day of preschool is Aug. 20.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. We also suggest that you check the full Dist. 122 calendar and your child's school calendar (Columbus-Manor, Harnew, Kolb, Lieb and Simmons Middle School) for conferences, open houses, meetings, exams, early dismissals, athletic and other school events.

Here's a look at some dates to know for the 24-25 school year:

Aug. 17 -First day of school will be a half-day from 8:50 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. for grades K-5; and 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. for middle school students, grades 6-8.

Aug. 18-Aug. 19 - Preschool parent/child orientation

Aug. 20 - First day of preschool

Sept. 1 - No student attendance

Sept. 7 - Labor Day, no school

Oct. 8 - Parent-teacher conferences, 5 to 8 p.m.

Oct. 9 - Parent-teacher conferences, no student attendance

Oct. 10 - Parent-teacher conferences 9 a.m. to noon, no school

Oct. 12- Columbus Day, no school

Nov. 2 and Nov. 3 - no student attendance

Nov. 11 - Veterans Day, STUDENTS IN ATTENDANCE

Nov. 23-Nov. 27 - Thanksgiving Break

Nov. 30 - School resumes

Dec. 21-Jan. 1 - Winter Break

Jan. 4 - School resumes

Jan. 18- Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday, no school

Feb. 15 - Presidents Day, no school

Feb. 23 - E-learning day

March 1 - No student attendance

March 26- April 2 - Spring Break

April 5- School resumes

April 6 - E-learning day

May 17 - No student attendance

May 25 - Last day of preschool

May 26 - Parent-teacher preschool conferences

May 27 - Preschool screening

May 28 - Last day of school, K-7, elementary 8:50 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.; and 8:15 to 11:35 a.m.
