Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 kicked off the new school year in spectacular fashion, welcoming hundreds of families to the Back-to-School Extravaganza on Saturday, August 22, at Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School.
The afternoon was packed with family-friendly entertainment, starting in the cafeteria where magician Tim Hannig amazed crowd members of all ages with his quick tricks and illusions. Wondering outside to the sunny skies and beautiful weather, Dave DiNaso's Traveling World of Reptiles brought out plenty of smiles and creative questions as crowds gathered around for unforgettable animal encounters.
Meanwhile, the middle school gym buzzed with activity as local community partners set up tables to share helpful services, area programs, and support networks with parents. It was a great opportunity for families to catch up with old friends, meet new neighbors, and learn more about the resources available to them throughout the neighborhood.
