OAK LAWN, IL — The Joker changed everything Tuesday night at Park Lawn's Crown the King drawing at Birdies Sports Bar & Grill.
A packed house filled Birdies as players waited for another chance to find the elusive King of Spades. Ticket J.T. XXX-XXX-3554 was drawn, and J.T. selected Card #21.
The card was turned over — and it was the Joker.
J.T. won $250 and 24 tickets into next week's drawing, but the Joker also triggered one of the biggest twists in Crown the King: the entire board resets.
All 54 numbers are now back in play, giving participants a fresh opportunity to choose their favorite or lucky number.
With the previous board officially over, Park Lawn can reveal the answer players have been wondering about:
The King of Spades was hiding under #38.
No one reached him before the Joker was revealed. With the reset, the cards are reshuffled and the King of Spades will have an entirely new hiding place for the next drawing.
"That's what makes Crown the King so much fun — one card can completely change the game," said Mark Dynia, Park Lawn Marketing & Community Relations Manager. "The King was sitting there under #38, but the Joker got to us first. Now every number is back, everyone gets a fresh start, and we have absolutely no idea where the King will be hiding next."
The next Crown the King jackpot begins at $13,530+.
A participant who finds the King of Spades receives 60% of the jackpot if present at the drawing or 50% if not present.
