New Nonprofit Launches to Support St. Gerald School Families in Oak Lawn

The Giant Education Foundation is Keeping a Catholic education within reach.

A group of St. Gerald School families and alumni has launched The Giant Education Foundation, a new independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to keeping a Catholic education within reach for students at the Oak Lawn school.

St. Gerald School has served the Oak Lawn community since 1929, forming generations of students in faith, character, and academics. As the cost of Catholic education continues to rise, the foundation's organizers say they wanted to make sure that cost never becomes the reason a family has to leave the school they love.

Funds raised by the foundation will go primarily toward tuition assistance, faith formation programs, and campus support for current and future St. Gerald students, with a portion prudently invested to sustain those programs for future generations of Giants.

The foundation will host its inaugural fundraiser, The Giant Education Foundation Legacy Gala, on Saturday, April 24, 2027, at Gaelic Park in Oak Forest. The evening will include dinner, a live and silent auction, and sponsorship recognition, with proceeds benefiting St. Gerald students.
