BRIDGEVIEW, IL—Thousands of stolen cans of the Red Bull were found Monday in a Bridgeview warehouse, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
A shipment containing $300,000 worth of the energy drink was reported stolen on Oct. 7 in Joliet. The sheriff's police Organized Retail Crime Unit worked with the Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force, which determined that the stolen goods were likely at a warehouse in Bridgeview.
When investigators went to the warehouse, police said they found 11 pallets of Red Bull from the original stolen shipment. The more than 23,000 cans are worth approximately $107,000, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
It's not the first time stolen goods wound up being discovered in a suburban warehouse.
Last December, police said a $2 millionshipment including Nike shoes, Dyson products and more was stolen from Joliet and later found at a warehouse in Oak Forest. The stolen merchandise was from retailers including Amazon, Kohl's, Macy's, Ninja/Shark, Old Navy, TJX, Ulta, Victoria's Secret and Walmart.
Last month, a cache of stolen Dyson hair tools worth $23,000 was found at an Orland Park warehouse after investigators found a Facebook Marketplace page selling the items.
