The Ridgeland School District 122 Board of Education has announced the new principals at Simmons Middle School and Harnew Elementary School.
At its April meeting, the Board of education approved the employment of Tracy Flood as the new principal at Simmons Middle School and Anthony Gill as the new principal at Harnew Elementary School.
Flood has taught 15 years in the general and special education classrooms, and has spent the past five years as an assistant principal at Worth Junior High. Flood has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Illinois University and a double Masters of Arts in Special Education and School Administration from Governors State University. Flood’s goal is to work collaboratively with the Simmons Learning Community to positively impact the educational achievement of all students at Simmons Middle School.

Anthony Gill has taught eight years in the general education classroom in the areas of math, social studies, science and reading. He has spent the last two years as Dean of Students at Simmons Middle School. Gill has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Illinois University and a Masters in School Administration from St. Xavier University. Gill’s goal is to continue his current success in working with teachers and students and to find new and better ways to help children be successful in and out of the classroom.
