Another Big Winning Lotto Ticket Sold in Oak Lawn

An Oak Lawn convenience store has sold a $200,000 winning lottery ticket, this time in the Powerball drawing on Nov. 3.

The Quick Pick ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven will receive $2,000 for selling the winning ticket, one-percent of the jackpot amount.

The winning numbers from last week’s Powerball drawing were 12, 14, 34, 39 and 46. The Powerball was 36, and the Power Play number was 4.

This is the second time a winning lotto ticket sold in Oak Lawn within the past month. sold a winning $250,000 Little Lotto ticket in the Oct. 20 lottery drawing.

Three players from the Chicago area matched five of the Powerball numbers walking away $200,000 richer, one of them a South Side man.

The players who bought their winning tickets in Oak Lawn at 7-Eleven and Foodies have yet to step forward. Under lottery rules, winners have 182 days to claim their winnings.

“I send a reminder to the [lottery] claim center every Monday,” Illinois Lottery spokeswoman Liz Leonard said. “Some people forget they purchased the tickets.”

Leonard said that most winners in the Chicago area go to the claims centers at the James R. Thompson Center downtown or Des Plaines.

This week, the Illinois Lottery is selling a specialty scratch ticket in honor of Veterans Day. All proceeds from the sale of the Veterans Cash tickets benefit Illinois veterans. Ticket proceeds help pay for medical care, post-traumatic stress disorder treatment, disability benefits and housing assistance. Since its inception, Veterans Cash has raised $9.6 million for veterans. The Illinois Lottery hopes to raise $1.2 million for veterans group this year.

The Powerball lottery is drawn live at 9:59 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday on WGN-TV.
