Arrest Warrant Issued for Uncle Accused of Sexually Assaulting 14-Year-Old Niece

Hodgkins police think man may have fled to Mexico.

HODGKINS, IL -- An arrest warrant was issued out of the Bridgeview Courthouse for a Hodgkins man accused of sexually assaulting his 14-year-old niece over a two-month period in 2015. Hodgkins police believe the man may have left the country.

A Hodgkins detective was in court Tuesday afternoon seeking an arrest warrant for Jose Campos Sanchez, who is believed to be around 28 years old. The detective said that Sanchez was living with his sister-in-law last year in Hodgkins.

Between September 2015 and December 2015, the detective said Sanchez sexually assault his 14-year-old niece at least 40 times. The girl told a social worker at school who notified the Department of Children and Family Services, The state agency notified Hodgkins police.

The detective said Sanchez is believed to have fled to Mexico. Cook County Judge Peter Felice issued a $500,000 warrant for Sanchez’s arrest.
