After reading the novel, Touching Spirit Bear in their Language Arts classes, the 7th grade students of OLHMS were treated to a special visit by the author, Ben Mikaelsen.
Mr. Mikaelsen inspired the students with stories of his life. He related his struggles with being bullied and his joy at raising a 700 pound black bear named Buffy. Our students were an amazing audience.
