OAK LAWN, IL — There are just a few short weeks of summer left, until students head back to school this month. Back-to-school planning has already begun at Oak Lawn Community High School, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2024-2025 school year.
Freshmen and new student orientation will take place Aug. 13. All grades (9-12) report Aug. 14.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. We also suggest that you check the OLCHS 2024-2025 calendar and your child’s school calendar for conferences, open houses, meetings, exams, early dismissals, athletic and other school events.

Here's a look at some dates to know for the 24-25 school year:
Aug. 12-Aug. 13 – No school, teacher institute
Aug. 13 - Freshman/new student orientation, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Aug. 14 – All grades report
Aug. 28 – Back to school night

Sept. 2 - Labor Day, off
Oct. 10 – Parent-Teacher Conferences, 5 to 8:30 p.m.
Oct. 11 – Teacher Institute, no school
Oct. 14 – Indigenous People Day, no school
Nov. 5 - Presidential Election, no school
Nov. 27 to Nov. 29 – Thanksgiving break
Dec. 23 to Jan. 5 – Winter break
Jan. 6 – No school
Jan. 7 – Classes resume
Jan. 20 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school
Feb. 17 – Presidents Day, off
March 3 - Casimir Pulaski Day, off
March 21 - Teacher Institute, no school
