Be Prepared For Oak Lawn To Enact Snow Parking Rules

Residents should be prepared for the Village of Oak Lawn to enact snow parking rules on Feb. 25 through Feb. 26.

OAK LAWN, IL — With a winter storm watch in effect Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon for Cook, Will, LaSalle Kendall and Grundy counties, now is probably a good time to remind Oak Lawn residents of the village's confusing snow parking rules.

Heavy snowfall with totals in excess of six inches is expected in many areas, including southern Cook County beginning Tuesday morning and will continue through Wednesday afternoon.

When there is more than one-inch of snowfall, there is no parking on designated snow routes until snow removal operations are completed. Also, the village's off/even ordinance is in effect.
There is no parking on even-numbered sides of the streets on even-numbered days, and no parking on odd-numbered sides on odd-numbered days. This means that on Tuesday, Feb. 25, you'll want to park on the odd-numbered side of the street; and on Wednesday, Feb;. 26, the even-numbered side of the street.
