On the Beat at Resistance Pro's "Rumble in Summit"
Resistance Pro, along with Freelance Wrestling, delivered a great afternoon of wrestling.
Resistance Pro Wrestling was back in action with a rare Saturday afternoon show. The "Rumble in Summit" was a joint effort with Freelance Wrestling. The afternoon of action was as hot as the weather.
"Rumble in Summit" started with an intense Number One Contender's match featuring "The Southern Savior" John Skyler taking on "The Iron Demon" Shane Mercer. This was a fierce battle as the competitors pounded each other unmercifully. It could have ended several times in either man's favor, but Skyler eventually took the win. He earned a title shot any time and anywhere.
The next RPro match was a 4 way dance with Women's champ Rachael Ellering defending her title against newcomers Holidead, Kylie Rae and Akane Fujita. Sometimes the women worked together against to deliver pain to another competitor and sometimes it was every women for herself. There were fantastic series of moves mixed with bone-crunching physicality. The unique and mysterious Holidead came out victorious, thus becoming the new RPro Women's champ.

The last RPro match had Daniel Eads challenging RPro Heavyweight champ Cobra with Justin King and Tommy Else. This was another seesaw, brutal match. Just as the Cobra Dynasty started to get involved, Skyler came out and neutralized King and Else. With the level playing field, Eads got the pin on Cobra to become the new RPro Heavyweight champ.
Eads celebrated his win as the crowd roared their approval. Skyler re-entered the ring to congratulate the new champ, but the gesture was followed by a super kick to Eads and a quick pin. Skyler had cashed in on his title shot and was now the new RPro Heavyweight champ.

Eads was stunned. The crowd was stunned. The world at RPro had changed. With two new champs, the title picture is now as unclear and exciting as ever. Will Cobra get a match? Will Eads get revenge? Will Mercer insert himself in the chase for the title? Where does Else fit in this picture? What about former champs "The Irish Car Bomb" Shane Mulligan, Suge D and Scotty Young? What about Willie "Da Bomb" Richardson, Mad Man Pondo and the rest of the RPro men's roster? Are there newcomers on the horizon?
As for the Women's Division, Ellering was an excellent champ. A fan favorite in and out of the ring, Ellering has a bright future. She has seen action in the WWE lately, but could a return to RPro be in her future? Like in the Men's Division, the line for the Women's title shot is long. RPro veterans Paloma Starr and "Hardcore" Heather Owens are definitely eying the title. Will Rae and Fujita be back? Who else might appear? The RPro Women's Division has been strong for a long time and it seems to keep improving.
It was a short RPro show, but it was chock-full of action and drama. With all of the outcomes, things seem to be very unsettled. That's good news for the wrestlers and the fans. I can't wait for the next show to see how this develops.
Resistance Pro will be back in action in November as they celebrate their anniversary. This show is always a classic and considering all that went down on Saturday, this year should be the most exciting and entertaining yet! Stay tuned here and on Johngy's Beat for updates.
