Boy Scout Troop 596 Collect Food For Almost Home
The Boy Scouts collect 643 items as part of the spring Scouting for Food initiative, which was donated to Almost Home.

OAK LAWN, IL — Boy Scouts from Troop 596 collected food and other items as part of the 2023 Scouting for Food initiative, which takes place every spring. Troop 596 collected over 643 items and delivered them to local nonprofit, Almost Home in Oak Lawn.
Oak Lawn residents may know the scouts of Troop 596 from Oak Lawn summer concerts and National Night Out in August. The scouts sells hot dogs, Polish sausage and popcorn.
Troop 596 has been meeting at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church since the 1970s. The troop draws students from Marist and Richards high schools, and Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School.
