A South Side Cubs fan.. A cross to bear

A South Side Cubs fan.. A cross to be bear

I must first preface my comments by stating that I was born on the Northside of Chicago but I have lived on the southside in Oak Lawn for 42 years. My parents were Cubs fans so I was a Cubs fan, but that doesn't explain my older brother who is a Cleveland Indians fan. Do not know where he acquired that alliance from!! Being a Southside Cubs fan is never easy especially since the Sox won it all in 2005. The Cubs have not won since err, well you know the rest of that story. I really do believe that most Sox fans would rather see a Cubs loss than White Sox victory. Most Sox fans hate Cubs fans, I really could care less what the Sox do. I am also a rare Cubs fan who is baseball literate unlike most of the drunk college kids who flock to Wrigley field every summer. I want the Cubs to win. The Cubs have all the curses to explain their defeats. The Sox did not win for 87 years where were their curses???  I guess it sounds better to people that the Cubs have curses, it keeps them happier than saying we did not have good enough teams to win all those times in post season. Now that the Theo Epstein era is occurring, my advice to Theo.. Get rid of the holy water, the goats, the Eamus Catuli sign in left field, and let Steve Bartman throw out the first pitch at Wrigley next year. God knows being a Cubs fan is enough punishment for the poor guy!!!
