Bride Reports Fake Home Invasion On Wedding Night: Cops
The prosecutor said her husband was found with a puncture wound to his shoulder after his wife claimed an intruder broke into their home.

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL -- A Chicago Ridge woman filed a false police report claiming she fought off an intruder who busted through her glass patio door, prosecutors said. Crystal Nuter, 29, appeared before Cook County Judge Michael Kane on a felony charge of disorderly conduct.
Police found Nuter’s husband nearby with a puncture wound to his shoulder, according to the charges.
Chicago Ridge police responded to report of a home invasion around 10 p.m. June 5 in the 6700 block of West 107th Street. The first officer to arrive said Nuter’s hand was covered in blood, which she claimed was the intruder’s blood. The kitchen and living room were also ransacked. Nuter allegedly told police she heard an intruder breaking the glass patio door. He entered her home and she pulled his hair, driving him off, the prosecutor said. She described the alleged intruder as a heavy set male with no shirt.

The prosecutor said the report of the alleged home invasion drew a response from several nearby police departments, who were out looking for the purported intruder.
While at the scene, a witness provided police with private messages from the husband’s Facebook page saying his wife stabbed him, the prosecutor said. One of the messages said he wasn’t mad at his wife and wanted to speak to her.

Nuter’s husband was found nearby, and was reportedly “uncooperative” in the police investigation.
Nuter has a felony charge for possession of a controlled substance in 2008, for which she received probation. She also has a felony retail theft charge from 2011, the prosecutor said.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Nuter lives with her husband. They had just gotten married the day of the alleged incident.
“There was an intruder,” the assistant public defender said.
Bail was set at $1,000. Nuter is due back in court June 26 in Bridgeview.
