8-Year-Old Boy Struck By Car While Riding Electric Scooter In Bridgeview Dies Of Injuries
Bridgeview police confirmed that 8-year-old Jad Debiy died of injuries a week after being struck by a car while riding an electric scooter.
BRIDGEVIEW, IL—A young boy struck by a car last Friday, while riding an electric scooter has died of his injuries, Bridgeview police confirmed.
The boy was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as Jad Debiy, 8, who died on Thursday at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn.
The eight-year-old was riding an electric scooter on the frontage road near Harlem Avenue and 72nd Place. He was taken to Christ Hospital with critical injuries.

Chief Rick Mancha, of the Bridgeview Police Department, told Patch that the driver remained at the scene and was cited for failure to yield.
