Bridgeview Man Dies Of Coronavirus

Two elderly men died of coronavirus March 29 at Advocate Christ Medical Center, including Bridgeview's first known COVID-19 fatality.

COOK COUNTY, IL — A Bridgeview man was among the eight coronavirus deaths in Cook County reported Monday by the medical examiner.

The 74-year-old man, whose address matches the Bridgeview Health Care Center, 8100 S. Harlem Ave., succumbed to a COVID-19 infection Sunday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, the man died as a result of pneumonia due to coronavirus, with hypertension, heart disease and diabetes as contributing factors.

The deaths bring the total in Cook County to 48. Seventy-three deaths are reported statewide, with over 5,000 coronavirus cases confirmed in Illinois.
