The varsity boys bowling team from Richards High School won second place at the Lockport Sectional last Saturday to advance to the IHSA state finals.
Richards finished 130 pins behind sectional champ Minooka. Great bowling from sophomore Danny LaBonte (1320), junior Blake Attig (1319) and senior Owen Szarley (1309) led the way for the Bulldogs.
"However, without the leadership from senior Matt LaBonte (1257), 200 games by juniors John Englund (209) and Nick Schopper (985), important spares from sophomore Dom Stahulak, and energy from junior Josh Barr, the team would not be advancing to state. Way to go Dogs!!" coach said.
