Bundled-Up Bandit Holds Up Same Stickney Bank He Robbed in December: FBI

Suspect wore winter scarf wrapped around his face same as December robbery, FBI said.

STICKNEY, IL -- A bundled-up bank bandit returned to the scene of the crime and held up the same bank he robbed in December, the FBI said.

Federal agents responded to a bank robbery late Monday afternoon at the TCF Bank branch inside Jewel-Osco at 40th Street and Harlem Avenue. According to witnesses, a man wearing a scarf over his face entered the bank around 6:04 p.m. He got away with an unknown amount of cash in what is being described as a non-takeover robbery.

The alleged bandit was described as a maie black in his late twenties to early thirties, with a medium build. He was wearing a red scarf over his face and a baseball cap, dark gray winter coat and dark colored pants.

The FBI believes the same man robbed the bank on Dec. 14 wearing a similar disguise.

Anyone who recognizes the individual or has information about the bank robbery is asked to call the FBI’s Chicago office at 312-421-6700. A reward is being offered.
