Burbank Cops Find Heroin Stash in Man's Sock: Prosecutor

Heroin, Alprazolam found in man's clothing during domestic disturbance call, prosecutors said.

BURBANK, IL -- A 25-year-old man was arrested after police found Alprazolam and heroin in his pocket and sock, prosecutors said.

A Burbank police officer told the judge that Matthew Brooks, of Palos Heights, was undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

Burbank police responded to a domestic disturbance around 4:51 p.m. March 25 in the 6800 block of West 79th St. in Burbank. The prosecutor said officers noticed a bulge in Brooks’ pocket that turned out to be a pill bottle containing Alprazolam.

Brooks was taken to the Burbank police station, where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police said they found 16 bags of heroin in his sock. He was later transferred to Advocate Christ.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $50,000. Brooks is due back in court April 17 in Bridgeview.
