Burbank Man Accused Of Hog-Tying Pharmacist Denied Bond: SAO
Andrew Kerr, 35, is accused with restraining a pharmacist face-down and then stealing 25 or more prescription bottles.

AURORA, IL — A DuPage County judge has denied bond for a Burbank man who is accused of hog-tying an Aurora pharmacist, wielding what was possibly a bb gun, and stealing more than two dozen bottles of prescription medicine Wednesday. Andrew Kerr, 35, of the 8600 block of Leclaire Avenue, has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated kidnapping.
According to police, Kerr came into Telescripts Pharmacy at 3535 New York St. around 10 a.m. wearing a hood with a mask and carrying a weapon that may have been a bb gun. Kerr then went behind the pharmacy counter and restrained the pharmacist by tying his hands and feet behind his back.
Police found Kerr after an investigation and allegedly found the stolen prescriptions in his possession.

In a statement, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said, "It is alleged that Mr. Kerr armed himself, concealed his identity and threatened a man trying to make an honest living just to get his hands on illegal narcotics. This type of brazen behavior will not be tolerated and will be met with the full force and effect of the law. Because of the outstanding efforts of the Aurora Police Department, Mr. Kerr was quickly identified as a suspect in this case and was apprehended a short time later. I would like to thank Assistant State's Attorney Sean Kinsella for his efforts in demonstrating Mr. Kerr's clear and present threat to public safety which led to Judge MacKay's denial of bond."
Kerr is set to appear in court again on Sept. 30.
