Burbank Men Botch Garage Burglary: Prosecutor
Burbank men were arrested after owner saw his tools stacked outside his neighbor's garage, prosecutor said.

BURBANK, IL -- Two Burbank men are accused of heisting power tools and lawn equipment from a detached garage on Jan. 29.
Kenneth Johnson, 47, and Todd Mettenthin, 39, were each charged with burglary. Prosecutors said the two stole a mini-rooter, air heater, lawn mower, chainsaw, trimmer, leaf blower and a generator from a garage in the 6100 of West 81st Place.
The two were arrested after the owner of the property saw his power tools and lawn equipment stacked up outside Johnson’s garage who lived on the same block, the prosecutor said. .

Johnson allegedly admitted that he and Mellenthin had intended to sell the property.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Johnson is the manager of a pizzeria. Mellenthin could only afford to post $15 bond.

Mellenthin’s bail was set at $10,000; Johnson’s bail was $75,000. The judge also ordered electronic home monitoring as a condition of bond.
