Man didn't think he had to update registration since he was due to re-up in August, prosecutors said.

Edgar Martinez, 27, of Burbank
A convicted sexual predator was arrested after Burbank police said he didn’t let them know he had changed jobs in compliance with the Illinois Sex Offender Registry Act.
Edgar Martinez, 27, of the 8100 block of South Leamington, Burbank, was charged with failure to register during a bond hearing on Wednesday before Cook County Judge Peter Felice.

When Martinez noted that his place of employment had changed during his annual registration in August, police went to his old employer to find that he no longer worked there, prosecutors said.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Martinez left his old job in July, and didn’t think he needed to update his registration since he was due to re-register in August.
Martinez was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 14-year-old victim when he was 22. The assistant public defender said the offense was his only felony conviction and he successfully completed probation in 2011.
He has no other arrests in his background. Judge Felice released Martinez on a $25,000 I-bond.
“I can see where a little error in judgement might take place,” Judge Felice said, “but you’ve got to dot all your i’s and cross all your t’s.”
Martinez is due back in court on September 28.
