Burbank Youth Minister Sent Explicit Photos To Teens: Cops

Burbank man was working for worship center on city's Northwest Side when he sent sexually explicit photos to four teenage girls, cops said.

CHICAGO, IL -- A former Burbank youth minister is facing felony charges after he allegedly sent sexually explicit photos of himself to underage girls while working as a youth minister at a church on Chicago’s Northwest Side. Daniel Ramos, 29, appeared at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building in Chicago for a bond hearing on Tuesday. Ramos has been charged with four felony counts of possession or exhibition of child pornography, indecent solicitation of a child and grooming.

Ramos was employed as a youth minister of Victory Worship Center at 3750 N. Neva Ave. in the Dunning neighborhood. Starting in 2014, prosecutors said that Ramos sent sexually explicit photos to at least four teenage girls between the ages of 12 and 17, according to the Chicago Tribune. Ramos also badgered the teens to have sex with him, and finally did with a girl after she turned 18.

Ramos, of the 7600 block of West Latrobe Avenue in Burbank, was taken into police custody on May 14. He was ordered held on $100,000 is prohibited from being alone with children under the age of 18. Ramos is also banned from using the Internet while his case is pending.

The worship center told the Tribune that Ramos has not been affiliated with the church for several months.
