CCHS Robotics Team: RoboKnights heads to State Finals this weekend
State-Bound RoboKnights Competing at Elgin

The RoboKnights, a competitive robotics team from Chicago Christian High School, are gearing up for an exciting opportunity at the upcoming state competition on March 1st. From 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., these talented students will showcase their skills at the event held in Elgin, marking a significant milestone for the team. Despite being only in their third year of existence, the RoboKnights have already qualified for the state-level competition, a testament to their dedication and hard work throughout the season.
Coach Ryan Verver expressed his pride in the team's achievements, saying, "This team is amazing! We are only in our 3rd year, and we have already qualified for state! This is a testament to the hard work these students have put into this season. FIRST Robotics is a great way for students to learn 21st-century STEM skills which will help them in life. The work these students do with problem solving, trade-off analysis, and the engineering design process are valuable skills for life! One of the great things about FIRST Robotics is the collaboration you get to have with other teams. Your partner for one match might be your opponent for another. This causes everyone to try to work together to make everyone better, instead of being overly competitive and only worrying about yourself."
Verver's words underscore the core values of the FIRST Robotics competition: teamwork, innovation, and the development of crucial skills for the future. The RoboKnights' journey to state reflects not only their technical prowess but also their ability to collaborate, think critically, and adapt in a rapidly changing environment. These skills are crucial not only in robotics but in any field the students pursue after high school.
